Jo-Sha Wipes : Keep Your Yoga Mat Clean
It occurred to me at my last yoga retreat that I might benefit from cleaning my mat, but I didn't want to use a cleanser containing harsh chemicals...(more... )

Wigwam Socks : Sweet Summer Treats

When I first saw Wigwam's Coolmax Solid Low-Cut Socks in the Athleta catalog, I knew I had to have a pair, or two, or three.

Even though I love wearing low-cut style socks for power walking and other outdoor pursuits, it was the bright colors of these ped-style socks that first caught my eye. White socks get dirty too easily, and they're just not as much fun to wear.

The Coolmax Solid Low-Cut socks are ideal for me because they feel soft like cotton but are actually made out of a high performance blend of Coolmax polyester, nylon, and spandex. They're nice and fluffy on the inside, through the arch, with reinforced toes and heels. I like that the top of the sock is thinner, so I get the padding where I need it and a nice fit everywhere else. Wigwam has done an excellent job of making a toe seam that is virtually unrecognizable.

Too often with low-cut socks, they stretch out and start slipping off the back of my heel after one or two wears. Not my Wigwam socks. They fit perfectly, and the ribbed welt tops, along with a grippy panel across the top of the foot, keep my socks in place no matter what I'm doing. Wash after wash.

Another important bonus for me: I can wear these socks for days and they don't smell. (I am a big slob...and I hate doing laundry, so sue me.) They're excellent wickers, and keep my feet dry all day. Colors: raspberry, lemon yellow, pink, bright green, sky blue, bright blue. Also available in men's sizes (called the C-T No-Show) and colors (black, blue, grey, white, red).

Bottom Line:  A comfy fit, with just the right combination of stretch, durability, and performance qualities. The colors are cute and energetic, too. These are must-haves for summer.--E.D. (May '06)
