Vasque Wasatch GTX Boot : These Boots Were Made for Hiking

I've always loved Vasque boots because they fit like casual shoes and do an excellent job of protecting my feet from the roughest terrain.

Made out of soft, nubuck leather, with padded ankle support, my Wasatch boots were comfortable right out of the box. No break-in time necessary. The first time I wore them, I hiked for three miles and never felt a pinch or hot spot. The next time I wore them, I left them on all day and my feet never got tired.

Of course, a comfy ride doesn't mean they aren't ready for the toughest trails. With a seriously lugged Vibram sole and a thick, "compression-resistant" midsole, the Wasatch is a stable boot built for the long haul (with or without a pack on). They're also waterproof, thanks to the GoreTex lining, so I'll be wearing them as my winter boots, too.

Available in men's and women's sizes, and in wide sizes.

Bottom Line: Totally functional and durable, and priced just right . An ideal medium duty boot.--E.D. (Nov '06)

The first flashlight was invented in 1898. Joshua Lionel Cohen, original owner of the Eveready company developed the concept of using a battery to run a light bulb, which he shared with an Eveready salesman, Conrad Hubert. Hubert then turned the idea into a flashlight.
