Treksta Vapor Hiking Boot : Lightweight Trailblazers
I’ve been slightly amazed at how truly light and comfortable the TrekSta Vapor boot is each time I wear it out on the trails. This boot is my first introduction to the Italian-designed TrekSta line, and I’m impressed. Not only are they stylish-looking in a high-tech sort of way (leave it to the Italians), but I’ve experienced no break-in period. These boots are designed fairly roomy (I have a low-volume foot), so I wear thick foot beds and some good, plush hiking socks to fill up the space and keep my feet secure in the boots. The result is a well-cushioned fit with no pressure points and no foot sliding or chafing while scrambling up or down steep hills. Although the Vapor is a lightweight boot, the midsole seems tough and strong, too. She's Got Grip I’m always wary of walking on slick, wet rocks, but the TrekSta Hyper Grip® rubber sole lived up to its name on a recent hike along the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River in the Cascade Mountain foothills east of Seattle. I was pleased with how stable I felt walking across some wet rocks on my way out to a perfect sitting boulder in the river. I tried sliding my foot along a slick damp rock just to test the grip and it held my foot in place on the rock. Bottom Line: TrekSta delivers on a light but tough hiking boot. I’m pleasantly surprised and pleased with my Vapor boots and look forward to wearing them on many more hikes throughout the summer and fall.--(J.I.
