Teva Toachi Sandal : Beach Walker
It's a long walk from my house to the surf break. Well, not that long (it's only four blocks), but far enough so that my high-arched, plantar fasciitis-prone feet don't like making the trip barefoot. Enter the Teva Toachi. A slightly wacky-looking sandal with an offset strap linking the protective toe to the heel strap, it provides good support during my stroll with my surfboard. On the beach, that big toe bumper keeps me from smashing my toes on the exposed rocks. The grippy sole helps me clamber around without dropping my board. I leave them tucked between a set of boulders while I'm surfing. When I'm finished, the Toachi sandals are easy to quick to get back on my feet. I just buckle them up, and head back into the water to rinse my board. The ankle strap also has a Velcro fastener to allow for adjusting the fit. As I walk through the water, waves wash right through the sandals, leaving little sand behind--thanks to what Teva calls "Drain Frame" technology. On the way home, I'm even happier--I've gotten a surf in, and my feet feel good, too. Bottom Line: The comfortable sandals protect your feet, whether walking or wave-dodging-- C. W.
