Sugoi Locust Short : Perfect for Everything

It's sort of ironic that back in the 70s and 80s, when I was a hardcore runner I exercised in cut-off sweat pants and a cotton t-shirt with the sleeves cut out. Now that I'm middle aged and moving around at a much lower intensity level, I have the best gear available!

I still love the style and feel of my youthful running clothes, so that's why I picked Sugoi's Locust Shorts for my all-purpose exercise bottoms. I like the length, which covers enough of my thigh to give me the modesty I like. Still, the shorts are plenty attractive.

Thanks to a gusseted inseam, I don't have to wear too-big shorts to get the freedom of movement I want. And thanks to flat seams, I don't have to worry about chafing.

The Locust Short is made out of a Nylon and Spandex blend, so it's got plenty of stretch and since I'm between sizes and went up a size to a L, I get a looser fit that's not sloppy. I also like the wide waistband, which allows a variety of fit options for all sorts of body types. There's actually only a thin band of elastic in the waistband, along with a drawstring, so I can wear them down around my hips where I like them. Others can still get a more high-waisted fit if they choose.

I love these shorts because they're so comfortable. I forget I have them on. They never irritate my skin or bind in any way, and I like the dark color options. There's a small pouch back in the back - just right for a gel packet or keys.

Available in women's sizes XS-L, four different colors. Sugoi also makes a variety of men's athletic shorts.

Bottom Line : Like my old cotton sweats, the Locust short is a garment I wear all the time, for every occasion, for every activity. They are, hands down, my fav!--E.D. (Aug 09)
