Sherpani Beta Life Bag : For Work and Play

Sherpani's Beta messenger-style laptop bag, the Beta Life, is the perfect bag for me. Finally, a bag that will hold my laptop, files, and computer accessories, that's functional, attractive, and designed just for women.

The Beta has plenty of space. I stash hand lotion in the mesh side pockets, which are secured with elastic so items won't fall out. In the zipped outer pocket, I put keys, my cell phone, and lip gloss--things I want handy, but also secure. The inside is divided by a padded laptop compartment that secures shut with a snap flap and also features smaller organization pockets where I put my flash drive, pens, and my afternoon snack.

I often carry hard copies of big reports for my work, so those go on the other side of the laptop compartment. And since I live in Seattle, where we've had our rainiest November since 1933, I'm grateful for the storm-proof zippers that have kept my gear dry inside the pockets.

I also use my Beta bag for fun. On a recent weekend trip to San Francisco, it was a great carry-on bag. I hauled magazines, books, my journal, sunglasses, and food--and still had room to stuff my purse inside while going through security and boarding. The adjustable, padded shoulder strap helped ease the strain on my shoulder when I had this bag packed to the brim. I like that the Beta also has a padded handle, so I can carry it by hand when needed.

Beyond the great features, I love the Sherpani touches: the inside is lined with a fun daisy-print fabric, and there's a small, cute daisy embroidered on the front flap. This is a bag for girls, after all!
