Prana Stretch Zion Pant : Ready for the World

The second or third time I wore these pants, I met up with a friend who had recently returned from a month-long backpacking trip across Africa. After our initial "Hi, how are you?"   He said, "Hey, I have those same pants."

"Yeah, what do you think of them?"

"I love 'em. They're the only pants I took to Africa."

"How'd they do?"

"They were perfect."

We went on to talk about other things, but I was taken back by how was I going to come up with something to do in my new pants that would rival a month of traveling across Africa. I never came up with anything, but I have been putting the Stretch Zion Pant to the test around town for the past few weeks during my usual routine of domestic chores and urban hiking.   They've performed well. And, when I do go on my epic trans-continental adventure, I will definitely bring them along.

The thing that distinguishes these pants from the myriad of other nylon pants on the market is that these are a 97% nylon/ 3% spandex blend. That may not sound like much spandex but it's just the right amount to allow a little give (It would be a stretch to call them "stretchy.") When I want to bend, crouch, lean, or reach just a tad beyond what conventional nylon pants would normally allow, these pants have the give.

Five generous pockets (3 with zippers) provide plenty of secure carrying capacity for keys, wallet, phone, camera, MP3 player, Tang decoder wheel, etc.

Bottom Line: A mid- to lightweight pair of pants that are versatile enough to handle just about any adventure life has to offer.
