Performance Snakebite Top : High Performance,Low Impact
My first article of prAna clothing, way back when, was the Snakebite. I wore it on a zillion adventures and traveled around the world with it, but I lost it in New Zealand a year ago. Bummer. It was a favorite. Now I've got a new Snakebite top, and it hasn't changed a bit. That says something. The Snakebite has mass appeal. It's stylish, comfortable, and way technical. The short neck zipper is just long enough to keep me cool as I'm charging up a trail, while the the superb wicking properties of prAna's Flow fabric keeps me warm and dry as I start cooling off. The contoured fit means I don't turn into a kite when the wind starts blowing, and it also just looks good. I also like the look of the contrast stitching and color-blocked panels. One thing I really like about the Snakebite shirt is that it's got perfectly flat inner seams. Surprisingly, lots of performance tops lack this feature, and I end up with chafed armpits or shoulders. Not with the Snakebite. One more thing: shirt doesn't stink, even after lots of use and abuse. Because it's synthetic, it cleans up really well, too -- certainly better than I do. While my cotton tops are covered in dirt and stains, my Snakebite shirts always look brand new. Another bonus -- this top is sustainable and recycled, made out of hemp and recycled plastic bottles! Bottom LIne: A classic Prana top made for chilling hard and sending harder. Awesome blend of wicking performance and wicked style. --N.W. (Feb 08) Price: $55 Manufacturer's Site: www.prana.com
