New Balance Profile Crop Bra : Big on Support

Busty runners know that a good bra is hard to find. And even more so, they know that cute little bras with spaghetti straps, low necklines, and no adjustability may look good on the hanger, but are never going to hold up to a rugged workout.  A serious workout for anyone bigger than a B-cup, needs a serious bra. Enter the New Balance Profile Crop.

After trying many different bras over the past few years and thousands of miles, and even doubling up my sports bras for enough support, I was skeptical that any bra would be a good fit for me.

The Profile crop has some heavy duty features such as a zippered front and velcro straps to keep bouncing in check. For starters, the straps are wide and padded for added comfort, and they can be shortened or lengthened almost infinitely, thanks to the Velcro lining the entire underside of the strap.

Next, the bra has a wrap-around construction where the straps in the back actually wrap all the way around the front and then fix into one of four different positions, allowing me to fully customize the tension around my rib cage.   Finally, the whole shebang comes together in a center front zipper so I can adjust it once and then just zip it on and off each time I wear it, instead of readjusting it every time. I'm usually a 32D, and with all of the adjustability, the size small fit great.

Made of New Balance's own Lightning Dry fabric, a quick drying and moisture wicking material, this bra has a mesh back for extra ventilation and brushed elastic that doesn't get soaked when I sweat.   And the best part?   Unlike many other sports bras for "big girls," this bra doesn't look like lingerie so I can wear it sans shirt on extra hot days.

Material: 90% poly, 10% spandex, available in sizes from S all the way to 3XL, in black or white.

Bottom LIne : All of the straps, buckles, zippers, and other hardware frightened me just a tad at first, but once I figured it out, the bra fit great and the support was unbeatable.   An excellent choice for C and D cup runners who want just one bra they can count on every run.
