It's one thing to try on a piece of clothing and look good it in; it's another to turn it inside out and see how well it's made. I can't help myself. I always have to look. My grandmother was an expert seamstress, and she passed on her high standards to me.
So, yes, Nau's Jean Skirt looks great on me and inside, too. All of the seams are clean and double-stitched, there are no rough edges or stray threads, and the underside of the waistband is nicely finished with cotton seam sealing tape (with is actually cotton material in case you never took a 4-H sewing class). Naturally, the material is organic, a dark wash denim with just a tiny bit of Lycra.
The outside of the skirt is even more impressive. No fluff, no contrast stitching, no tricks. It's all clean lines, and everything is fits together perfectly. The tops of the back pockets line up so well with the edge of the wide waistband that they're almost undetectable. Same with the tiny front coin pocket about the right front pocket. The result is a seemingly simple, elegant, knee-length skirt for almost any occasion. There's also a well-placed slit on the left side of the front of the skirt which I didn't notice until I wore it for the first time. Caliente! (So much hotter than wearing a mini skirt, which you shouldn't do over the age of 21, anyway.)
I love the deep front pockets, with plain metal rivets at each end. Too many companies make women's pockets tiny and useless, as if we don't have things to carry around! I also love the fit of this sweet skirt, and I think it's the type of skirt that will fit a variety of body types. I wear mine on my hips, but a smaller-waisted woman can wear it with the waistband around her waist.
Another bonus....this skirt runs big. I'm usually an 8 in skirts, and wear a 4 in this skirt.
My other favorite thing about this skirt: it looks awesome with my _ _ _ -kicking motorcycle boots.
