N95 Breathing Mask : Don't Be Afraid to Cover Your Mouth
I'm afraid of germs, and I'm not afraid to prove it by wearing a mask on an airplane. I always get sick after flying because my respiratory system is not the heartiest. So, I got over my embarrassment about wearing masks a long time ago. I've always had to wear one for cleaning house, and I made my public debut as a mask wearer when I took a cabinetry course 15 years ago. Dust 0, Me 1. The N95, which is made by 3M, is definitely up for the job. It forms a seal with my face, it's spacious on the inside so my mouth and nose don't feel trapped, and it has an adjustable nose clip to get a more custom fit. I've worn in on flights, although I usually wear a lower-profile mask for travel, and around the house when I'm cleaning or working in dusty areas. I can breathe normally, which is key. I'm incredibly sensitive to chemicals, fragrances, dust, and other irritants, and feel that this mask does a great job of protecting my respiratory system. Made in the USA. Available at Magellan's Travel Supplies (see link below.) Bottom Line: An effective, affordable option for travelers who want some extra protection and aren't afraid to show it.--E .D.
