Merrell Waterpro Animas Sandal : Comfort and Traction
Perhaps it works for some people but I seemed to spend the first half of summer tripping over or sliding out of my flip-flops. It was time to give a pair of sport sandals a try. I went with the Merrell Waterpro Animas Sandals because they looked more substantial and supportive. I suddenly found myself able to go from the car to the wading pool to chasing my kid down the gravel-jogging path without having to fuss with my footwear. My Waterpro sandals quickly became my go-to summer footwear. The Vibram outsole and ergonomically molded foot bed provide support like a shoe while the upper wears like a sandal. I've worn them for everything: grocery shopping, an afternoon at the wading pool, gardening, tide-pooling, walks around the lake, and even a hike to some ice caves. On the hike to the ice caves I had to cross a small knee-deep river. I was so glad that I choose to wear my new sandals. The sturdy sole held firm to the slippery cobbled riverbed and the neoprene/rubber/leather sides kept rocks and twigs out. Available in men's and women's styles/sizes. Bottom Line: I never imagined myself to be a sport sandal guy, but I made the leap and haven't looked back. --A.S. (Sept 08) Manufacturer's Site: www.merrellboot.com
