Magellan's Shoe Bags : Keep 'Em Covered

My neighbors just came back from their summer vacation, and I was horrified to look into their suitcase and see: their shoes sitting on top of their clothes!!!

How could they? Do they know how dirty the soles of their shoes are? Do they care that there could be all types of gross microscopic bacteria and scary viruses getting on their clothes? Yes, they assured me, they knew. AND DON'T CARE. Well, they're never borrowing a suitcase from me again.

I am a germophobe. I like to have a barrier between the outside world and my organic designer jeans. So, when I travel, I pack my shoes in slim, cotton drawstring bags. First I fill them with socks to save space, then I place each shoe in its own protective and colorful travel pouch. And that's the way it should be. Clean, tidy.

I used to use plastic bags to pack my shoes, but I also used plastic bags for my toiletries so by the time I was ready to travel home I couldn't remember which bags were which. I'm not bothered by security checks, I don't mind late flights, and I'm not afraid of flying. But it wigs me out to think of my street shoes mingling with the rest of my luggage or touching the inside of my fancy suitcase.

Anyone who knows me might find my shoe situation hilarious since my house is often a crazy mess and my kitchen is filthy, but for some reason, I can't travel happily unless my shoes are sheathed.

Available in a variety of colors. Made in the USA.

Bottom Line: I love these handy shoe sleeves. I have used them so many times, and they're washable so I'll be using them many, many more times in the future.--E.D. (Aug 09)
