Lodis Sport Passport Wallet : Tidy Traveling

When traveling abroad, one thing that cracks me up are all of the travelers with big, bulky passport holders that they wear on a lanyard around their necks and then stuff inside their shirts "for security." Or those people who "securely" affix them like an extra appendage to their belts. Although I'm sure these folks think they are sly and nobody notices, they're actually advertising, "Hey, I'm a foreigner and all my money and every important document I need is hanging off my body!"

OK, so maybe I know all this because I used to be one of those people, but not anymore! I took a trip to Europe earlier this month, and before leaving moved everything from my old bulky passport holder "necklace" into the new Lodis sport passport wallet, and it worked out perfectly!

This passport wallet is a sleek, attractive, well-made travel accessory that keeps all of my travel documents and credit cards in one place. I like that it's small, lightweight, and made of leather.

It fits securely out of sight in the side pocket of my zippered cargo pants or in an interior jacket pocket or even in a small fanny pack. It's designed to hold my passport and has a full length currency slip compartment, a fold-out flap for oversized train and airline tickets, four credi card slots, and an outside snap closure to hold everything together. It looks like a small wallet rather than a passport holder, which is nice.

If I could change anything it would be to put a clear window inside the passport sleeve to allow for my picture and the bar code of my passport to be easily scanned for inspections. Currently, I have to take it out each time. It's really not a big deal though, and I'm not sure that even with a windwo I still wouldn't be asked to remove it.

I would also like a change pocket compartment because the Euro system uses so many coins in transactions. However, I soon found it was more important to have my passport and documents secured in a small, compact-sized holder out of sight and use a separate container or my pockets for change. To suffice, I just carried a small zippered change purse for both coins and currency. I soon decided I actually preferred this. The coin purse held my mad money while I kept my passport, credit cards, and tickets stashed away out of sight until they really needed to be revealed.

I'm sold on this new passport wallet and actually feel my valuable documents and credit cards are much safer. Though I may not entirely blend in, I do know I look a lot less like a tourist to unscrupulous scammers who might be after my valuables.

Size: 5.75 high x 4.25" wide x 0.5" deep

Colors available: Orange, Green, Blue and Black

Fabric: Soft, drum-dyed full aniline leather

Bottom Line: With this Lodis passport wallet I can keep my valuable documents secure and out of sight to better blend in as one of the locals. This item is described as a "women's" wallet, but I don't see why men can't use it, too!--C.W. (Nov 09)
