Levi's 501 : A New Wash for an Old Favorite

Today, you can walk into a Levi's store and choose from twenty-three different types of 501s--all with the same straight-leg cut, same fit, and same button fly.
My new favorites are the ten-year wash 501s. They're perfectly "distressed" by the company, so they're already soft, faded, and even have slightly frayed wear marks on the hems and pockets. I like this worn-in finish because the jeans feel a bit thinner and lighter than regular jeans. I also appreciate Levi's "anti-fit" design in the seat of the pants -- my butt never looked better.
Bottom Line: For men and women, nothing looks better with a t-shirt, with boots, with a button-down shirt, with a sweater, with anything...than a faded pair of Levis. -- E.D. (April '05)
