Keen Zoe Shoe : Sweet and Humble
Be careful when you visit the Keen web site. You'll hear a scream, which is the soundtrack for their home page, a kayak hurtling down a waterfall. It always startles me. Now that I've warned you, I can get on with my good news. Keen has yet another sweet shoe you're going to want. The Zoe is a model of simplicity. At first glace, it reminded me of an old fashioned tennis shoe. No fuss, no muss, just classic style and sweet, humble features: tan leather uppers, with a lighter tan suede tongue. The lighter suede is also used along the opening of the shoe and down the back of the heel for a nice contrast effect. The laces are also neutral, and the lace holes are simple holes - no fancy hooks or metal grommets. What I love most about this shoe is the super soft, thin leather Keen uses. The Zoe feels like a moccasin, but with the much thicker, supportive, and stable sole. These unassuming shoes are ideal for daily wear, and offer the best of both worlds: stability and light weight. The Zoe is available in four colors, some styles have a floral printed on the contrast suede. Sorry, guys, but the Zoe is only available in women's sizes. If those don't fit you, try the men's Portola. Bottom Line: The perfect shoe for most occasions (actually all all occasions that don't require an evening dress), with Keens top quality soles.--E. S.
