Keen Winthrop Boot : Stomp Out Snow in Style

Please, stop walking around town in those clunky hiking boots. You are a lady, and you need a pair of boots you can wear every day. To work. To the grocery store. To yoga class. Just because you play outside doesn't mean you can't have urban gear, too. So pack away your trail boots until the trails are actually clear for hiking.

Get online, and order a pair of Keen's Winthrop boots. I love mine. These gorgeous full leather boots are a nice change from the heavy men's outdoor boots that I used to wear. They look great on, and they're fun to wear. I feel more stylish than when I wear hikers or work boots. I love the height on these boots--they top off just below my calves. I can tuck my pants in to show them off or leave my pants out. Keen cleverly designed this boot so that the zipper begins about two inches above the bottom of the boot -- a pretty good clearance height for tramping through snow -- nothing has gotten in so far.

Of course, I love the trademark sole --treaded and thick, so I don't slip and slide when the sidewalks are covered in snow. They're sturdy enough that I can walk for miles and my feet have all the support they need. I can replace the removable footbed with my custom orthotic, and adjust the fit with the cinch cord that runs down the spine of the boot. Since I have thin legs, it's a nice bonus to be able to pull in the boot closer around them.

Staying warm isn't much of a problem where I live because it rarely gets to freezing temps. Still, I appreciate the wool lining.
