Ibex Rue Skirt
I don't like spending time getting dressed, so I like clothes I can wear for a variety of activities and outings. Ibex's merino wool Rue Skirt is a perfect example. It's got a classic A-line cut with a nice wide elastic waistband that gives it an athletic fit. I have a lot of loose-fitting cotton and merino wool skirts, but the Rue Skirt is my favorite for times I want to look a bit dressed up but still feel casual. The Rue Skirt is the perfect length--it hits a couple of inches above my knees, so it's both stylish and modest. The merino fabric is heavier than you'd find in a wool tee, but not dense enough to be considered mid weight. Because merino wool breathes well, I can wear this skirt Spring through Fall. The thick waistband makes it less ideal for super hot summer days, but I have worn it in 70-80 temps and felt comfortable. Even though I wear the Rue Skirt most often around town, it's designed for active wear. It has a flat, zippered pocket centered on the back, just under the waistband, that's just the right size for keys and stash of cash or nutritional gel packet. Merino wool is naturally odor resistant so I rarely wash this skirt. When I do, it dries quickly, which makes it idea for travel. Available in Black, Shell, and Deep Sage, sizes XS-L. Bottom Line: A slimming, easy-care skirt for casual and active wear.--E.D. (July '10) BUY ONLINE: $82, ($61.46 at Amazon)
