Ibex Fish Tee : Reel One In

My favorite types of t-shirts are simple, lightweight, and have a neckline about halfway between a crew neck and a scoop neck. Ibex's Fish Tee fits the bill perfectly.

It's constructed out of two pieces of fabric--a front and a back--for a loose fit that hangs nicely off my shoulders and doesn't cling to my body. I like the contrast stitching around the neck, across the shoulders (it's a cap-sleeve style without set-in sleeves), around the hem, and along the torso -- it's a wide stitch that looks hand sewn. A nice touch.

I like that the fish motif is subtle and sparse - just a touch of contrasting color. I also like that the shirt if made out of fine-weave, almost sheer merino wool. So I get the best features of a cotton t-shirt with the added benefits of better breathability, wicking, and temperature control. Best of all, it rarely needs to be washed because wool resists odors for a long time. Which means it'll last longer than my cotton tees because it won't spend as much time in the washer.
