Horny Toad Heston Pant : Versatile, Easy-to-Pack, and Quick-Drying

When my wife and I were packing for our anniversary trip to Venice, we knew we had little space in our luggage for extra clothes. We were flying Ryan Air, a low-cost European carrier, and wanted to have everything in our carry-on bags to avoid checked baggage fees. So, of course, I decided to bring along my Horny Toad Heston Pants. It was a great decision.

These lightweight travel pants look absolutely fantastic thanks to their clean lines and oh-so-subtle pin stripes, yet they are rugged and durable and have lots of deep pockets – including an unobtrusive cargo pocket – to accommodate my passport, wallet, and boarding passes. I think they’re some of the best travel pants I’ve owned.

They served me well in airports, and they served me even better as my wife and I enjoyed our first anniversary dinner in a hidden gem of a Venetian ristorante. The Heston pant is casual enough for hanging out or rushing through airports, but it pulls double duty and earns mega style points when paired with a pressed collared shirt and a cardigan.

I like the material. It's a blend of 67% organic cotton and 33% nylon that’s slightly stretchy, hugely mobile, quick-drying, and very packable. These, of course, are the traits I look for when I’m assembling my travel wardrobe. I like the comfort of cotton, but I also need the fast drying time of nylon, in case I need to do my laundry in the hotel sink. Because men’s clothing is simply bigger than women’s clothing, I always look for shirts and pants that pack down really small. The Horny Toad Heston folds down to the size of a pair of boxer shorts, which is an enormous bonus in my book.

I really like the Horny Toad pants I’ve tested over the years, in part because they hang perfectly on my lanky, hard-to-fit frame. Horny Toad is one of the minorities in the outdoor industry that makes a pant in a 34-inch inseam. The pants are also available in the standard 32-inch inseam.

Aside from the great fit, finish, and features of the Heston Pant, I love wearing them knowing I’m supporting an environmentally progressive company. Horny Toad uses organic materials in many of their products.

The Heston is available for men in either a light or a dark khaki, in both a regular and a long inseam version.
