Footprints Loreto Boots : 70s Style, Modern Comfort

When I was a kid, I had the most amazing pair of wide whale corduroy bell bottom hip huggers. They were so funky that they didn't have a zipper, but laced up in the front like a shoe. Of course, the lace was a long piece of leather. What I never had was a pair of go-go boots. Thanks to Birkenstock's Footprints line, I have a pair now!

My Loreto boots have ultra cool dark brown suede uppers that go all the way up to the top of my calves. They're lined with a smooth, supple leather that feels soft against my skin (I haven't yet purchased knee-high socks for wear with my boots). The top of the tongue attaches to the inside of the boots with velcro enclosures, which make lacing easier. The velcro also helps keep the tongue in place during wear.

Like all Birkenstock shoes, the footbed seals the deal for me. The removable contoured cork and leather footbed provides good support through the arch and metatarsal arch. With wear, the footbed molds to the contours of my foot.

I've never been able to wear such fun footwear as these sweet suede boots because I've always needed a shoe with a lot of support and plenty of width. Finally, I've found a shoe company that makes quality shoes in sizes that fit my monster feet and provide the support I need.
