Columbia Cross Trek II Knee Pant : All I Kneed for Summer

I've found the bottom half of my late spring/summer uniform: Columbia's Cross Trek II Knee Pant.

They're knee-length, which I love--I'm too old to be flashing my thighs and I like the extra coverage when I'm oudoors. Part of Columbia's Titanium line, and made out of their moisture management Onmi-Dry fabric, these pants are lightweight and quick-drying (this second feature is most important to me since I plan to wear them every day--they dry on the line in just a few hours).

What I love most about my knee pants is the fit. Following in the trend of offering more "active" cut pants, Columbia has joined several other outdoor apparel companies in providing women of all types of shapes and sizes with a few more fit options in pants! These pants have a lower waist, and cinchable leg openings for a stylish, comfortable fit. I appreciate the thick belt loops (I don't need a belt now, but hopefully will after some serious calorie-burning hikes.)

Wth two front pockets and two small velcro-sealed cargo pockets, I've got plenty of room for all the shells I collect at the beach....or personal items I carry on hikes. Best of all, the pans fold up neatly into a large back pocket that zips into its own carrier pouch.

Bottom Line: Available in women's sizes in fossile (khaki), breen (dark brown), and stellar (light blue). I think these pants run small. I had to get a size larger than all of my other Columbia pants.--E.D. (June '06)
