Bite Orca Sandals : High Performance for all Types of Feet

Finally, a performance sport sandal designed to accommodate custom orthotics and footbeds! After I got my custom orthotics, I pretty much had to give up wearing 99 percent of the sandals on the market, including my favorite sport sandals. Because my orthotics sit inside my shoes beneath my heels, they slip out the back of any shoes that are not enclosed at the heel. A big "Thank You" to the designers at Bite Shoes who came up with this brilliant yet basic idea for their Orca Orthosport sandals.

The Orca is a durable, attractive, and comfortable performance sport sandal. I simply slip out the regular footbed and slip my orthotics into the sandal beneath my heel. For extra security, there’s a thin foot liner you can put on top of your orthotics. But I do just fine without this liner because the raised back of the heel keeps my orthotics securely in place. For people who don't wear orthotics, the removable footbed is comfortable and well-cushioned, with extra padding under the heel and metatarsals.

With warm weather finally here in the Northwest, I’ve been wearing my Orca sandals around town and out kayaking a few times. I like the easily adjustable top straps that feature an attractive Native American design of a whale tail. As an ardent environmentalist, I think it’s great that Bite Shoes contributes 10% of their profits on the Orca sandal to support the Center for Whale Research.
