Birkenstock Florida Sandal : Extra Arch for Extra Support
Luck for me we've had a warm fall in Seattle. But I don't care if it does get colder and wetter; I'm still wearing my Birkenstock high arch Florida sandals. I've always been a big fan of Birkenstock sandals because I love the contoured cork and leather footbeds; they gives me the support I need through my side and metatarsal arches. With time, the footbeds mold to my feet for a custom fit. This high arch model of the popular Florida sandal is just like the original Birkenstock sandals, but with a higher arch. Since I have high arch feet, and a sore spot between my big and first toes, this extra support feels fantastic. Currently, the high arch sandals are available in three styles: the Florida (three buckled straps) in a lovely soft cocoa colored nubuck leather, the Boston (a suede clog) in tan suede, and the Arizona (two thick buckled straps), also in tan suede. Like all Birkenstock sandals, they need a little break-in time, but your feet will thank you for them. Bottom Line: These sandals are feet savers for me. They work better than my custom made orthotics, so I wear them all year 'round (when it gets cold, I just put on socks), and every day as house slippers.
