Ponte Sor shoes by Birkenstock : So Street
There's a new shoe in town, and it's everything I want in a hybrid tennis/casual shoe. If you only know Birkenstock by its super comfortable but slightly clunky sandals, it's time to take another look. The Ponte Sor is sleek, black, and totally street. With leather uppers, a removable footbed providing arch and metatarsal support, and flexible rubber soles, the Ponte Sor offers an athletic style (with four suede "racing" stripes and a red mesh tongue for a hint of contrast) with a casual fit. Every time I wear these shoes, both men and women ask me what kind of shoes they are. I like that I can get the comfort and support I need in a Birkenstock shoe that isn't recognizable as a Birkenstock shoe (meaning-I have room for my big, wide feet without looking like I have big, wide feet). I love my Birkenstocks because I need a supportive insole. Their cork insoles mold to my feet over time, and have the added bonus of extra cushioning in the heel cup. Bottom Line: Birkenstock has done a great job of introducing many new styles that combine fashion and fit. Their shoes are available in a variety of sizes and two widths. If you love your feet, try these shoes.--E.D. (July '05) Price: $170 Manufacturer's Site: www.birkenstock.com Buy Online:
