Auri Footwear Philanderer Shoe for Men : City Slickers

We don't like philanderers here at FitnessTravelGear; we're a fairly wholesome bunch. Still, it doesn't seem right to diss a shoe just because of its name.
So, I was given the task of testing Auri Footwear's Philanderer, a lightweight, slim-styled lace-up dress shoe.
Right out of the box I liked the design. I like how the leather side panels meet the top of the shoe and form a seam that wraps around the the toe and the top edges of the shoe. I like how this same pattern is duplicated around the laces. The Philanderer has a nice, clean, sleek look that's ideal for work.
Today it seems that all men's dress shoes have rubber soles. Normally I prefer a traditional leather soled oxford-style lace shoe, but I like how Auri incorporates athletic and outdoor shoe elements, such as heel padding and good traction, into the soles of their dress shoes. They also have a TPU (a plastic/polyurethane material) shank in the heel for stability.
Another thing I like is how Auri finishes off their shoes. They have nice insoles. First, they're made out of leather, which forms to my feet. I also appreciate the gel padding in the heel and forefoot. Finally, there's a stiff TPU material that cups the heel and extends through the arch for some stability. Nice.

Bottom Line: A more stylish alternative to what I usually find at the mall. A great every day work shoe.--T.A. (Jan 10)
