APC Teleadapt Kit : Plugged In

Until they make a computer battery that lasts the duration of an overseas flight, I'll be packing APC's Teleadapt kit. This AC to DC power converter, the first to be approved by the Radio Technical Commission of Aeronatutics, allows you to plug into seat connections on most apirplanes and into your car's cigarette lighter.
You can plug into the inverter any 110-volt appliance (75 watts or less). The inverter also provides surge protection.
**When you book your next flight, ask if your airline offers "Empower" sockets on your flight. Most newer planes have it, but some airlines do not.
Bottom Line: The inverter comes in a handy, zippered nylon cases, so you can throw it into your carry-on bag. If you don't think travel should interrupt your workday, this is a must-have item.--E.D. (Mar '04)
